Gotu kola also known as centella asiatica, Indian pennywort or spadeleaf is an herb belonging to the Apiaceae family. Gotu kola is native to the tropical regions of Africa, Asia, Australia and the islands in the western Pacific Ocean. Gotu kola has been traditionally used in Chinese and Indonesian medicine known as the “herb of longevity” for medicinal and culinary purposes.

Gotu kola is rich in antioxidants. Antioxidants help fight free radicals in the body and may help prevent the risk of chronic diseases. 

Gotu kola has anti-diabetic, wound-healing, anti-microbial, memory-enhancing and neuroprotective properties.

Gotu kola may help reduce anxiety and stress. Gotu kola may act as an antidepressant. Gotu kola may also help treat insomnia.

Gotu kola may help reduce the appearance of stretch marks, minimize scarring and promote wound healing.
